His fate is known. My mother socialized with him, when he was living and lived in Tallinn.
I searched all living relatives, but there are many riddles of relatives who died.

Help to understand, please.
Writtenin father of Hans:
- in Parish register of births of 1810 - Kita Maddisi Jaan
http://www.ra.ee/dgs/_purl.php?shc=EAA. ... 1094,105,0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
- in Parish register of marriages of 1834 - Simo Ton. P Jaan.
http://www.ra.ee/dgs/_purl.php?shc=EAA. ... 2032,158,0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Coming from other records (if needed, I will send links), it is a the same man.
Then in Parish register of births of brothers and sisters of Hans both one name is written
- Simo Ton. P Jaan (Jan, Hinno Mardi Tono sohn) is most, birth of Liso records
- Kita Maddisi Jaan – (birth of Hans and Ewa).
Possibly, it is related to that Jaan got married in 1803 on a widow of Kita Ton. Maddis.

Probably, an answer is covered in a next record
http://www.ra.ee/dgs/_purl.php?shc=elk. ... 1186,215,0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If You can – decipher, please.

Thanks!
Pavlo

I rights that Tonno
- 26.02. died,
- 03.03. was buried?

http://www.ra.ee/dgs/_purl.php?shc=EAA. ... ,1062,52,0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I very often meet big difference between death and burial, including in summer.

Thanks!

Five days - it is usual to bury the dead persons within a week or so, including in summer.

There are of course the stories where it has taken too long :roll:

I am not actually able to decipher the few words between (Simo Tönn. P.) and (Kita Maddis Jaan)
It sounds like: war bey Januse Willem 'was at Janus' Willem' but I am not sure at all. Anybody?

Jaan seems to die on 24.9.1817 and Ann: ist bey Seppa Jag[o] Hans - is at Sepa Jaak's Hans

When Jaan lived at previous Kita Madis' place then he probably was called Kita Madise Jaan. When he moved away, then he might have got back his original name Simo Tönnis' Jaan. And it is possible that for a certain period both names were in use.

Hope it helps.

2. - 3. Those one-letter abbreviations written after every person (all but little children) mark his/hers ability to read and to undestand the principles of the Christian faith. Those were the things that were taught to young people before confirmation. – So the letters do not mean a change in Ano’s status.

The abbreviations can vary from one pastor to another, here some: l(esen) – reading, g(ut) – well, z(iemlich) - rather, m(ittelmässig) - mediocre, s(chlecht) – poor, Cat(hecismus) – a book used in the teaching the principles, etc.

4. Saksa = Germany; I think Saksasse = to Germany.

This explanation can even stay but in particular case it marks most likely a village Saksa-ase (Saksasse) next to Mällikvere (Mellikfer). Look at the center of map. Saksa = Germany but also Herr, master; ase = place, site
