Hello!

I'm looking for my roots. I found that my grand[5 or 7 times]-father is Tõnno Rekap. Documents in AIS system of RAHVUSARHIIV say that he is from Ober Palen, Liflandia.Now it is Põltsamaa. Around 1888 he and his family moved to Gdow. Also in documents I found that Tõnno birthplace (from his words) is Woiseck, which is in Kolga-Jaani kihelkond. Now I want to get church books records confirming his birth, marriage and births of his children.

Also I get parish records from familysearch site, where there is record about Tõnno Rekap and his family. The only issue is I don't know how to decypher gothic letters. One may see photocopy of page here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3Xlr0 ... sp=sharing

Grand merci, jussK for your investigation. So it looks like original writing of "Rekap" surname was "Rekab"

There was no original writing, was no rules and everyone wrote like want, also names wrote in german, estonian and russian styles
possible that more than two versions exist
